To either keep or fire Carol Wicks as Director of Animal Services will be a decision made by the city council. If it comes to that, it would be put on a Decatur City Council meeting agenda for further review. So far, it is not on the agenda for their next meeting on Sep 2. If the issue comes before the city council, that's when we hope to find out why Mayor Kyle decided to put Wicks on paid administrative leave. He will not comment on it, saying he cannot talk about a pending personnel issue. HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The father of accused Discovery Middle School shooter, Hammad Memon, was hospitalized overnight.

Emergency crews responded to the home of Dr. Iqbal Memon Monday night after receiving a call about a man having a seizure. His condition is currently unknown.

According to the Athens News Courier, Dr. Memon was in their office until about 5:30 p.m. Monday after he arrived to ask a reporter to write a story about his efforts to change legislation on the age at which a juvenile can be charged as an adult.

Hammad was arrested when he was 14-years-old and charged as an adult for the shooting death of classmate Todd Brown at Discovery Middle School in February, 2010.

Dr. Memon, a pediatrician, and his wife, Safia, both face charges for hindering prosecution.
