GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Counselors spent Monday at Guntersville High School to help students cope with the death of a classmate and track team member.
17-year-old Kevin Yoder died Friday night in a vehicle accident outside of Memphis, Tenn.
He was riding with some team members to a track meet in Arkansas. The team members were also injured in the accident.
Monday, ministers and counselors arrived at Guntersville High School to allow students to ask questions and deal with the loss of Yoder.
The accident came a week before track sectionals.
Principal John Ritchey says the team is grieving but will continue on with track this weekend.
"They're planning on dedicating the rest of the season to Mr. Yoder and all that he's done," said Ritchey. "They've printed t-shirts and a favorite scripture verse of his."
