The second of two 2-run singles on the night from SS Jeff Bianchi gave Huntsville a 5-4 walkoff victory Jackson Generals. After trailing by a score of 3-0, the Stars tacked on three consecutive runs on their own with an RBI double by Hunter Morris in the first Bianchi 2-run single in the fifth tied the game at three runs apiece.
The score would stay that way until the eighth inning when a solo homerun by Jackson SS Nick Franklin gave the Generals a 4-3 lead. Prior to Bianchi's ninth inning heroics, the Stars had not led the entire evening.
On the pitching side, Jesus Sanchez earned his first win of the season with a scoreless ninth. Jackson RHP Carter Capps was tabbed with the loss after giving up the eventual game winning hit.
Game two of a five-game series will take place on Saturday as the Stars will send RHP Tyler Thornburg (1-0, 0.92 ERA) to face off against LHP James Paxson (1-0, 1.20 ERA). First pitch is at 6:43 PM.
