HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A man dies in an early morning fire at a Huntsville home Saturday morning.

Fire fighters responded to reports of a fire at the home at 3105 6th Avenue near Triana Boulevard in Huntsville.

When they arrived on the scene they saw flames shooting out from the back of the home.

The fire broke out after 5:00 a.m.; official found a body inside the home.

The Madison County Coroner identified the body was 59-year-old William George Gilbert.

A neighbor said Gilbert and another man lived in the home.

The neighbor said she woke up Saturday morning to smell smoke coming through her air conditioner.

Investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
