Decatur woman charged with fraud in stolen checks case

Police find that a suspect for the robbery of the Burnett Construction company is also a family member.

David Burnett is the owner of Burnett Construction, LLC. On April 2nd, He reported to Decatur Police that several business checks were stolen from his vehicle and his residence.

During the investigation, police discovered David Burnett's daughter-in-law, Kimberly Noelle Burnett, as a suspect.

On Wednesday, Kimberly Burnett was spotted at the Chevron Gas Station on 14th Street in Decatur. She was detained by an officer and taken to the police department for further investigation.

Burnett was charged with four counts of second degree forgery.

She was booked in the Decatur City Jail, and then transferred to the Morgan County Jail. Her bond was set at $10,000.
