The Huntsville Stars rolled to their second consecutive win on Saturday night, beating the Jacksonville Suns by a score of 3-1.
The Stars had the lead the entire game, starting in the first inning after a Scooter Gennett RBI groundout made the score 1-0. After the Stars plated another run in the third on a Gennett RBI single, the Suns only were able to cut the lead to one after a Kyle Jensen sacrifice fly in the third inning. Lee Haydel gave the Stars their insurance run in the sixth inning with a pinch-hit RBI single. RHP Evan Anundsen earned the win for the Huntsville on the mound, pitching five innings of one-run baseball while striking out four. Robert Wooten also notched his first save of the season with two scoreless innings.
Game four of the Stars five-game season opening series with the Suns will begin at 1:05 ET with RHP Kyle Heckathorn taking the mound for Huntsville opposing Jacksonville's RHP Omar Poveda.
