The 24th-ranked Auburn softball team travels to Oxford for a three-game series against the Ole Miss Rebels this weekend.

Auburn goes into the series at 24-11 overall and 3-7 in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers have lost two straight after being swept in a midweek doubleheader by No. 2 Alabama. Ole Miss is 14-16 overall and 2-6 in the SEC. The Rebels have lost four of its last five entering the weekend. Auburn goes into the weekend in third place in the SEC Western Division with the Rebels one spot behind in fourth.
"Ole Miss has a different look and they are different team than they were last year," Auburn head coach Tina Deese said. "They hit the ball well and have done a good job scoring runs. They played Alabama tough in the second game of that series, scoring seven runs against them. We have to really get after it and eliminate the mistakes we've been making."
The Rebels are sixth in the SEC with a .296 overall team batting average and are led by Londen Ladner and Corrine Doornberg. Ladner is 10th in the league with a .397 batting average while Doornberg is 11th with a .386 average.
Senior catcher Elizabeth Eisterhold has paced the Tigers offensively this season. Eisterhold is second in the SEC with 10 home runs, second in RBI with 34 and is 14th in hitting with a .371 average.
Auburn is 34-15 all-time against Ole Miss and is 19-4 against the Rebels in Oxford. The Tigers have won seven of the last nine meetings in Oxford. Overall in the series, Auburn has won eight of the last 10 games against Ole Miss including taking two of three from the Rebels last season.
