FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
A Florence teen was arrested after being charged with a stabbing murder.
17-year-old Autumn Marie Wood is accused of stabbing 14-year-old Brooklyn Ann Hollins during a fight at a home on Winona Street in Florence.
Investigators said four teens were involved in the fight around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Investigator Jerry Pearson with Florence Police said Wood got on top of Hollins and started punching her. He said Wood then stabbed Hollins with a kitchen knife in the chest. Hollins died of the stab wounds.
The superintendent from Florence City Schools said Hollins and Wood were home-schooled.
Wood was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center Saturday morning on a $50,000 bond. She was released from jail Monday after posting bond.
Police said she will be tried as an adult.
A candlelight vigil for Hollins took place at the Brandon School in Florence Sunday night.
Hollins' funeral is set for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Spry Williams Funeral Home on Helton Drive. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
