GADSDEN, AL (WAFF) -
A grandmother and stepmother accused of killing a 9-year-old girl are due in court Wednesday.
Joyce Garrard and Jessica Hardin are scheduled to appear before an Etowah County judge at 1:15 p.m. for an arraignment hearing.
The women are expected to enter pleas in connection with Savannah Hardin's death.
Prosecutors said they forced the little girl to run until she collapsed. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Garrard, Savannah's grandmother.
