MONTGOMERY, AL (WAFF) -
With homes in shambles after the March 2 tornados, the last thing a victim needs is to worry about people trespassing on their property and stealing what remains of their belongings.
Looting is always an issue after a natural disaster.
On Wednesday, a House judiciary committee met to discuss a piece of legislation that would make looting a felony crime.
If this bill gets passed into a law, people caught looting would face 10 years in prison and be fined up to $15,000.
