HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

If you have suffered damage at your home and need debris removal or tarps from Friday's severe weather, please call UNITED WAY OF MADISON COUNTY at 256-536-0745.

Madison County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) is opening the Volunteer Registration Center (VRC) Saturday morning at 9:00 at Alabama A&M Wellness Center at 4900 Meridian Street in Huntsville.  Volunteers will be accepted from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm to register them for debris cleanup work within Madison County.

You must provide a photo I.D. and be at least 18 years of age.  Please dress appropriately for debris cleanup work:  boots/hard soled shoes/long pants and gloves are recommended.

Please Note:  Volunteers MUST be registered with the Center and receive a wrist band in order to work legally within the damaged areas.

The Center will be open for several days as EMA assess the damage and volunteer needs.
