A judge unsealed some documents in the case of 9-year-old Savannah Hardin's murder.
Investigators say Savannah died after her grandmother, Joyce Hardin Garrard, allegedly ran her to death as punishment for eating a candy bar. Her stepmother, Jessica Hardin, was also arrested for not stepping in and stopping the punishment.
Monday, Judge Allen Millican unsealed court documents relating to the case. A mental evaluation of Savannah remained sealed.
On Thursday he issued a court order sealing certain documents, which could contain information about Savannah and certain family members. Judge Millican sealed them until he had a chance to review them.
Both the prosecution and defense have said all along they don't want this case tried in the media.
Jessica Hardin and Joyce Garrard remain behind bars at the Etowah County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond.
