ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -
A threat against one Limestone County school has parents and students concerned and officials taking action. Friday rumors began swirling of a possible bomb threat at West Limestone High.
"I send my kids to school to get an education," said Pam Lancaster, concerned parent. "I don't like worrying because of the nonsense that is going on in a classroom that one of my children can be harmed, or anyone's child."
Principal Charlotte Craig said the school takes any situation like this, rumor or not very seriously.
Additional school resource officers were brought in on Monday as a precaution. Some parents still kept their kids home.
"With all the stuff going on in the country now with kids weapons and stuff like that you don't really understand or know it's it a vile threat or if it's something that is going to actually take place," said Tommy McCurley, parent.
"I think it's awful that we even have to think about things like this," Lancaster added. "We should be able to get up and take our kids to school and pick them up and know that they had a safe day at school."
Principal Craig said the students responsible for the possible threat are being dealt with.
It's still unknown if the four students involved will be suspended. Craig said they were not at school on Monday and it is unknown when they will return.
