HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A fugitive wanted by Georgia authorities was taken into custody at a Huntsville Motel.
Officers responded to America's Best Inn on North Memorial Parkway around 9:15 a.m. Friday morning and found the fugitive in a room with his girlfriend.
Officers with the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive task force arrested 49-year-old Christopher Robert Williams of Killen and 47-year-old Karen Garrison.
Williams was arrested for receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and fugitive from justice.
Garrison was arrested for receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine and possession of synthetic narcotic.
Williams escaped from a Georgia Department of Corrections facility on February 2nd. He was in jail for receiving stolen property.
Police say the two were traveling in a stolen vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Christopher Williams was caught at a Huntsville motel.
