DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Court officials have released letters from a DeKalb County woman who was in jail awaiting her capital murder trial.

Letters show Karri Willoughby had love interests beyond her husband while behind bars.

In letters WAFF 48 obtained Tuesday from the court, Willoughby is writing her husband about how much she looks forward to seeing him when she gets out of jail. But she wrote two other inmates stating the very same thing.

Willoughby was sent to Tutwiler Prison last Friday after she pleaded guilty to killing her stepfather Billy Shaw Jr. in 2008. She was sentenced to 20 years in jail.

In her letter to her husband, Jason, it's appears to be words from a devoted wife on Christmas day.

Willoughby writes:

"It's Christmas night, it's real foggy, and drizzling rain and there's no where on Earth I'd rather be than cuddled up in your arms on the couch watching our kids play with their new toys."

Court documents show Willoughby wrote letters to two jail inmates. In a letter to one of the inmates she expresses excitement about leaving her husband and possibly having a future together after life in jail.

She closes her letter by saying:

"Well, they just popped my door so I'm gonna go now. Baby, I love you so much and I'm so happy I got to see you today. You're always in my thoughts and dreams. Hugs and kisses. I love you."
