State health officials want to you stay aware of the growing cases of the Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.
The Alabama Department of Public Health says the cases are more numerous and more severe than normal in Alabama. No deaths have been reported, but some patients did end up in the hospital.
Health officials say specimens collected from patients have identified a new virus for this area, and they expect more cases.
