LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
This weekend family and friends will remember the life of a valley teen who died in a car crash.
17-year-old Kevin Hughes was killed along Highway 61 in Lauderdale County Thursday.
People are using social media outlets to grieve. Friends and family are expressing their love and thoughts for Kevin on his Facebook page. People have shared memories, prayers and are using it as a way to share their final goodbyes.
Kevin was a junior at Wilson High School where he was a member of the football team.
Former Wilson football coach Cody Gross is very emotional about the loss. Here's what he had to say about Kevin.
"He was so respectful - yes sir, no sir - all the time and probably the most honest and straightforward guy I've ever coached. Always had a great attitude and I already miss him," he said.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 Friday night at the Wilson High School gymnasium.
His funeral will also be held at the gym on Sunday at 3 o'clock.
We spoke with Kevin's sister briefly on the phone, and she says her family is amazed by the outpouring of love the community has for Kevin.
