LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Missing is money at a county department in the Shoals and employees are accusing the office administrator.

Officials with Lauderdale County Solid Waste Management say they noticed a large amount of money missing from the department.

46-year-old Trina Reynolds is accused of altering receipts and stealing some of the cash payments made to the office. Investigators are working to figure out when the thefts occurred and exactly how much money was taken. Police estimate the amount to be somewhere between $500 to $2,500.

Police arrested Reynolds and charged her with second degree theft of property. If convicted, she could spend one to ten years in jail.

Officials say Reynolds has denied the accusations. She was released on a $1,500 bond.
