GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
One person is dead in a two-vehicle accident in Guntersville.
Police and emergency crews responded to the accident on Highway 431 before 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Guntersville Police said the driver of a water-well drilling truck heading northbound on 431, when he lost control at a stop light near Guntersville High School; turned over on its side into the southbound lane landing on top of a Chevrolet Impala.
The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. The driver of truck was not injured.
A second vehicle's utility trailer was also hit by the drilling truck. All three people inside that vehicle were not injured.
The water-well truck is owned by Hand-Servicing Water Well Drilling Company based out of Hazel Green.
Traffic is being re-routed and delays are expected.
Guntersville and State Troopers are investigating the accident.
