DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Jury selection began Monday in the capital murder trial of a DeKalb County woman. Monday is the first of two days of jury selection.

Karri Willoughby is charged with killing her stepfather back in 2008.

Police first believed 65-year-old Billie Shaw died from a heart attack. His body was exhumed and an autopsy was done. Prosecutors say he died from a lethal dose of propofol.

Prosecutors claim it was Willoughby who administered the lethal injection and that she had access to the drug while working in the medical field. Official say Willoughby stood to inherit $300,000.

Since her arrest, Willoughby now has more than 1,300 people supporting her on a Facebook page called, "Truth For Karri."

Willoughby pleaded not guilty after she was indicted in 2010 and has since remained in jail.

Tuesday, jurors are expected to answer attorneys' questions before a jury is selected.
