Tuscaloosa Sheriff: 6 shot at Cottondale apartment complex

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Six people were shot at a Cottondale apartment complex Friday night, according to an email from Capt. Lloyd Baker of the Tuscaloosa Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened at Eddins Estates, which is located right off Cottondale Exit 76 of Interstate 59.

FOX6 Video Journalist Neal Posey, from our Tuscaloosa Newsroom, says crime tape is still up at the complex. He saw property managers cleaning up. They refused comment and asked him to leave the scene.

A man who lives at Eddins Estates told Neal some people told him they overheard loud talking about money before shots rang out in the apartment. The man says it all happened around midnight.

When FOX6 News asked for more details, Baker referred all questions to Tuscaloosa County Sheriff Ted Sexton, who plans to hold a news conference at 1:00 p.m.
