HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A man accused of rape at Alabama A&M is not allowed to go back on campus while officials review the allegations.

Police arrested Jefferson Le'Frank Chandler after sexual assault allegations in a dorm room surfaced earlier this week.

He posted his $10,000 bond, and WAFF 48 News confirmed he is a student at the Alabama A&M University and he's not allowed to go back on campus for the foreseeable future. A&M administrators said that is standard anytime a person is involved in a high profile crime like this.

The school is going to let the judicial system play out before they make a ruling on the ban.

Alabama A&M is very tight lipped about the incident. In a statement, the school told us law enforcement and other school officials are investigating the sexual assault.

They also said it happened at a male dorm on Monday, February 1st.

As soon as we hear any more details about the alleged sexual assault, we'll pass it along both on-air and online.
