MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Three people are now charged in connection to the murder of a Madison County man.

It happened over the summer on Cavalier Drive.

Deputies say Joseph Petty beat Gregory Shepard with a claw hammer. Joshua Marsh survived the attack.

Petty was arrested and charged just after the murder.

Madison County Sheriff's investigators confirm three more arrests in this case.

A grand jury just handed down murder indictments for Michelle Lynn Ikard, Charles Olson, and Marcus Minnis.

"We are glad to bring this case to a total closure.  We had the primary suspect that night, but are glad to have the case closed with all involved," said Madison County Sheriff's spokesman, Chad Brooks.
