BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

UPDATE: National Weather Service officials have added two more tornadoes to the other six that struck Alabama on Monday. These are tornadoes that stuck Maplesville in Chilton and Perry Counties and North Millbrook in Elmore County. It is unknown if officials will find any more.

Weather officials are still evaluating storm damage, but they now say at least six tornadoes are responsible for ripping through parts of central Alabama on Monday.

Those hits include Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Sumter, Saint Clair and Elmore Counties. More counties are likely to be added as officials also tour Chilton and Perry Counties.

The strongest twister was an EF-3 that hit St. Clair and Jefferson Counties.
