Huntsville Havoc Update

HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Huntsville Havoc split a pair of road games falling to the Mississippi RiverKings 4-3 on Friday before rebounding with a 5-4 win over the Louisiana Ice Gators on Saturday.

                                        

Friday, January 20 – Huntsville 3, Mississippi RiverKings 4

SOUTHAVEN, MS - The Mississippi RiverKings scored three goals in the third period to rally and beat the Huntsville Havoc 4-3 Friday night.

The Havoc scored first just 2:28 when Dennis Sicard found the back of the net.

Mississippi tied the game at 1-1 just 1:40 into the second on a Mike Tuomi goal. Mike MacDonald gave the Havoc back the lead when he scored with 8:05 left in the period.

Matt Whitehead, Kyle Lundale and Deven Stillar all scored third period goals for the RiverKinds. Ray Ortiz scored with 2:21 left to cut the lead to 4-3 but the Havoc couldn't tie the game late.

Kevin Beech made 21 saves in the loss while David Wilson made 21 in the win.

 

Saturday, January 21 – Huntsville 5, Louisiana 4

LAFAYETTE, LA - Five different players scored goals and the Huntsville Havoc picked up a big road win with a 5-4 victory over the Louisiana Ice Gators Saturday night.

Gabriel Boutin-Gagnon scored the with 12:54 left to go in the opening period as the Havoc took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Jason Hill tied the game at 1-1 just 1:02 into the second period. Brad Flynn answered just :18 seconds later as the Havoc took back the lead. Alex Mortin tied the game at 2-2 with 10:05 remaining in the second period.

The Havoc would finish the second period by netting three straight goals, the first by Dennis Sicard with 6:08 remaining. Ray Ortiz scored with 5:37 left and Ryan Kretzer scored with :01 left to give the Havoc a 5-2 lead with one period left.

Louisiana got third period goals by Kevin Beauregard and Brayden Metz to cut it to 5-4.

Kevin Beech made 30 saves in the win while Dan Earles allowed five goals and made 16 saves in the loss. B.J. O'Brien replaced him for the third period stopped all eight shots he faced.
