Jury selection complete for Shoals chief charged with DUI

Jury selection wrapped up Monday for a Shoals police chief charged with drinking and driving.

Tony Logan is being tried at the Etowah County Courthouse.

The Tuscumbia chief faces drinking and driving charges out of Florence.

Attorneys on both sides of the case have made their decisions and the fate of police chief Tony Logan now lies in the hands of 12 men and women in Etowah County.

Just to catch you up on the case, it has been moved out of the Shoals as a request by the defense. Judge Self from Lauderdale County is hearing the trial, but it is all up to the 12 men and woman selected on Monday.

Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan was arrested in December of 2009 accused of DUI. Witnesses said he hit a mailbox and another vehicle while driving.

The heart of the trial will begin Tuesday morning at the courthouse.
