Are you planning to party in Huntsville on New Year's Eve? Don't forget to plan your transportation before you have too much fun and forget!

Huntsville Police and area law enforcement agencies will be cracking down on drunk driving over the holiday weekend. Party goers in Huntsville have many options when it comes to transportation. So if you don't have a designated driver, find one here!

The most obvious option is a taxi. But what if you don't carry cash? Several Huntsville cab companies offer credit card payments, so that's no excuse. Rocket City cab is one of those companies and you can even contact them before your big night out to schedule your transportation. You can do the same thing at Trans City Cab.

The City of Huntsville parking garages are $2 per vehicle. You can drive downtown, park in the garage, and take a taxi back home. You are allowed to leave your car in the garage overnight. The garage will not allow cars to enter on Sundays, but you can exit through an automated gate.  Just have someone drop you off outside the garage and walk back to your car to exit.

Want to ride in a little more style? Check out the area's limo services. Check out a few of your options with Affordable Elegance. They have a fleet of luxury vehicles available for a wide-range of budgets.

But what if you get caught at the bar and you spent all of your money on the party? The City of Huntsville and AAA have you covered.

The Downtown Trolley service will run from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. It is free to ride. The trolley can carry you between downtown bars, restaurants, hotels, and parking garages. If you need to travel from one downtown establishment to another but don't want to move your car, take the trolley. City officials say they will hit each stop at approximately 15 minute intervals this weekend. Two trolley vehicles will be in service on Friday and Saturday.

For the 25th year, AAA is offering free towing to folks celebrating New Year's Eve weekend to help reduce the number of DUI-related arrests and injuries.

AAA members and non-members can benefit from the non-profit, member service organization's Tow-for-Life program. The program offers free towing from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday. New Year's Eve party goers who have consumed alcohol can get a ride and have their cars towed home by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP. The towing service is free up to 10 miles.
