Auburn Football Practice Report

Posted: Updated:

AUBURN —  The Auburn football team put in 90 minutes of work Monday as the Tigers returned to practice following an off day.

Auburn head coach Gene Chizik came away pleased with Monday's practice, which featured the team in full pads.

"I thought we had a good night," Chizik said. "I thought we had a good tempo. We went back to a lot of teaching. We were in full pads and they really got after it tonight."

Auburn will have two more practices before taking a three day break and gathering in Atlanta on Dec. 25 to begin on-site practice for the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

"We will go in pads again tomorrow," Chizik said. "We will get back to some fundamentals and try to continue to grow in that area. We expect to have two more good practices before we get out of here."

Auburn (7-5, 4-4 SEC) takes on Virginia (8-4, 5-3 ACC) at 6:30 p.m. CT on Dec. 31 in the Georgia Dome. The game will be Auburn's 37th bowl appearance all-time. The Tigers have a 21-13-2 record in 36 previous bowl games. Auburn is 16-6-1 in bowls since 1974.
