COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
The case against three people accused of killing a Shoals woman is going to a Colbert County grand jury. Court records show the judge over the case bound the case over Friday.
Ronald Weems, Laurel Pruett, and Matthew Fox are charged with the murder of Amanda Taylor. Taylor was reported missing in October.
The complaint filed against the three details what investigators believe happened to Taylor and how the group allegedly disposed of her remains. Investigators say Weems has confessed, but they are still trying to figure out a motive.
According to the complaint, Weems called Muscle Shoals Police to report an assault back in October. He claimed his attacker was Amanda Taylor. Police state they believe this report was made in an effort to mislead investigators.
WAFF 48 News has also obtained records showing the attorney assigned to Laurel Pruett wants off the case. In a court filing, the attorney says she has represented Amanda Taylor in the past.
A memorial is planned for Amanda Taylor Saturday night at 7:00 on the Colbert County courthouse lawn.
