MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) -
Authorities charged three people in the death of a Shoals woman missing since October.
Muscle Shoals police said 33-year-old Ronald Eugene Weems was charged with murder and corpse abuse
in the slaying of 32-year-old Amanda Taylor of Leighton.
Laurel Ann Pruett of
Sheffield is accused of murder and hindering prosecution, and
21-year-old Mathew Richard Fox of Florence is charged with murder,
hindering prosecution and corpse abuse.
Taylor's sister reported
her missing on October 19th. The arrest warrant accuses Weems of
strangling Taylor with a nylon strap in the basement of his home.
Weems and Fox allegedly put the body in the trunk of a car, and Pruett is charged with helping cover up the crime.
The victim's skeletal remains were discovered Saturday off of Gnat Pond Road, leading to the arrests.
