Garbage rates could be going up in one community.
The mayor of Florence is recommending a five dollar a month increase in residential garbage rates.
He says the rate increase is needed to cover the expense of hauling the city's garbage to a Mississippi landfill.
The city council this week approved a six month contract with the regional landfill to dispose of the garbage while the city decides what to do with the landfill in Florence.
