Jacksonville State's Rodney Garrott has been selected to play in the 2011 FCS Senior Scout Bowl on Saturday, December 17 at Doug Shaw Stadium.
The game serves to showcase the graduating senior talent of FCS level football and is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League.
Garrott, a native of Huntsville, finished tied for second with 49 tackles for the Gamecocks in 2011. He also had eight tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass break-ups and three passes defended.
The linebacker also started all 11 games for JSU and led the Gamecocks with six quarterback hurries, while also forcing a fumble and blocking a kick.
Garrott is one of two Ohio Valley Conference players selected for the game, joining Murray State's Darrell Davis.
Jacksonville State finished the 2011 season with a 7-4 record, including a 6-2 Ohio Valley Conference mark, and won the school's 18th Conference Championship. The Gamecocks finished the regular-season ranked No. 25 in The Sports Network/Fathead.com poll.
