Thanksgiving is right around the corner. It's going to be a big meal, but to maintain your weight successfully, you don't want to be over restrictive either.
Anna Key with Huntsville Hospital Wellness center offers these tips to enjoy Thanksgiving without over doing it.
Get your Thanksgiving meal out of the house ASAP!. Enjoy your meal that day and have a turkey sandwich or leftover vegetables the next day, but try to get the dressings and the casseroles out of the house. You may also wanting try cooking less of those things so you don't have a lot of leftovers.
If going to two Thanksgivings, you have to be choosy. Eat dessert at one dinner and not the other one. The same thing goes with dressings and high calorie sides, you want to be selective in how often you do those things.
Try to work more plain vegetables-- meaning not covered in butter or inside a casserole-- into your meal.
Focus on family not food. Try having conversations with everyone at the table.
