Madison County Superintendent announces retirement

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Madison County Superintendent Terry Davis announced he's retiring.

Davis says he will step down effective November 30th.

Davis has been Superintendent of Madison County Schools since 2005. During his nearly 34 years as an educator, Superintendent Davis has also been a teacher, coach, assistant principal of Hazel Green High School, principal of Meridianville Middle School, and Central Office administrator.

Davis says this is a decision he's been thinking about for a while and he wants to spend more time with his family.

A vacancy announcement for the Superintendent position will be posted.
