10/10/2011 | Football

Jacksonville State moved up two spots to No. 10 in this week's FCS Coaches Top 25 football poll and up to No. 11 in the Sports Network/Fathead.com poll, which were both released on Monday.

The Gamecocks, 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference, was open last week and moved back into the Top 10 for the first time since being ranked No. 9 in the preseason poll. The Gamecocks moved up one spot in the Sports Network/Fathead.com poll after being ranked 12th in both polls last week.

Georgia Southern remained No. 1 for the third straight week, while Northern Iowa is ranked second and Montana State is third in both polls.

Jax State has now been ranked for 37 straight weeks in the Top 25 polls, which is the longest such stretch in the school's 108-year history and is now 51-15 against OVC competition to post the best conference winning percentage among active schools of any team in the FCS.

The Gamecocks return to Ohio Valley Conference action this week Austin Peay, the second of three straight road games. JSU returns to Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium on Oct. 29 against Tennessee Tech for Homecoming and kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
