FLORENCE -- Chloe Roberts and Hollie Loud scored one goal each to lead the University of North Alabama women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Georgia College & State at the UNA Soccer Field. Roberts scored just 45 seconds into the match to give the Lions a 1-0 advantage. Georgia College & State tied the match in the 42nd minute on the Bobcats only shot of the night but Loud gave UNA the win with a point blank shot in the 53rd minute.
With the win UNA is now 9-2 and has four straight wins. The Bobcats fall to 3-8 overall.
Roberts scored her eighth goal of the season and 68th of her career at UNA in the first minute of the match after driving the right side. Erin Griffin scored an unlikely goal for the Bobcats after she tipped a ricochet just over the goal line. It was her first career goal and tied the match at 1-1. Loud then scored her second goal of the season at 52:35 to give UNA the win. Nikki Brown passed the ball to Jennifer Osmond who pushed it past the goal keeper and Loud then blasted it into the goal.
UNA out-shot the visitors 29 to 1.
