HUNTSVILLE, AL – Huntsville Havoc head coach, Randy Murphy, announced today that the team has acquired forward, Ryan Salvis, from the Fayetteville FireAntz and also signed rookie defenseman, Gabriel Boutin-Gagnon. Fayetteville will receive future considerations from the Havoc.
Salvis (6-0, 190) played in 25 games for the FireAntz last season and scored seven goals and recorded 13 assists. He has also spent time in the LNAH, CHL and the ECHL. He has played in 100 career games and scored 23 goals and added 46 assists. He played in 74 collegiate games at St. Francis Xavier University where he scored 18 goals and recorded 29 games. The Toronto, Ontario native also spent four seasons in junior hockey where he scored 44 goals and recorded 73 assists in 236 games.
"Ryan will provide stability and size at our center position," Murphy said. "He is a very good faceoff man and will be relied upon to play a solid two-way, hard working game to ensure depth to our forwards. We are excited to see Ryan compete in camp."
Boutin-Gagnon (5-10, 180) has spent the past four seasons playing junior hockey in the QJAAAHL for the Valleyfield Braves and the Terrebonne Cobras. The Val-d'Or, Quebec native has played in 186 games and scored nine goals and 40 assists. He also amassed 595 career penalty minutes.
