LOUISVILLE, KY. (AP) - The National Transportation Safety Board is set to meet and consider the final report on a fatal crash between a tractor-trailer and van that killed 11 people near Munfordville in 2010.
The board's meeting about the crash is scheduled for Sept. 13.
Truck driver Kenneth Laymon of Jasper, Ala., and 10 other people, including members of a Mennonite family returning to Kentucky from a wedding in Iowa, were killed in March 2010 when Laymon's vehicle crossed the median on Interstate 65 in central Kentucky and struck the van carrying the family.
Kentucky State Police have already concluded that distraction and cell phone use were factors in the accident. Laymon's cell phone was active around the time of the wreck, but his body tested negative for alcohol or drug use.
