UNA Moves up to No. 5

WACO, Texas -- The University of North Alabama has moved up one spot in the latest American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II poll to fifth.  UNA opened the season ranked sixth nationally in the pre-season poll and downed Central Oklahoma 31-10 at home last Thursday in its first game of the season. 

 

Defending national champion Minnesota-Duluth is ranked No. 1, followed by Northwest Missouri State, Abilene Christian, Grand Valley State and UNA.  The Lions play Abilene Christian in two weeks at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Two other UNA opponents are also ranked with Delta State ranked 11th and Valdosta State 14th. 

 

North Alabama hosts Glenville State on Saturday (Sept. 10) at Braly Stadium at 6 p.m.
