PHILADELPHIA – Jacksonville State is ranked No. 10 in this week's The Sports Network/Fathead.com Football Championship Subdivision Top 25 poll, which was released today.

Defending FCS champion Eastern Washington (0-1) remained ranked No. 1 after receiving 111 first-place votes, while Georgia Southern (1-0) jumped from fourth into two second and Appalachian State (0-1) dropped a spot to third.

The Gamecocks are coming off a thrilling last-minute 24-23 come-from-behind win over UT Martin in the OVC opener for both teams last Thursday. JSU has now been ranked in the football polls for 32 consecutive weeks, the longest such stretch in the school's 108-year football history.

Jax State has posted a 26-9 overall record since 2008 and is looking to win its sixth straight regular-season non-conference game this week when the Gamecocks travel to face No. 23 Chattanooga. The Gamecocks have won four straight games against Chattanooga, who is coming off a 40-7 loss at Nebraska.

Sophomore quarterback Coty Blanchard will be making his first career start versus the Mocs on Saturday after replacing injured Marques Ivory in the season opener. Blanchard completed 9-of-17 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown and carried the ball nine times for 32 yards to earn OVC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Game time is set for 5 p.m. CT at Finley Stadium and the game can be heard on the Gamecock Sports Network, or online at JSUGamecockSports.com.
