Former Auburn Lady Tigers playing well in WNBA

After two full months of action on the court, former Auburn standouts DeWanna Bonner and Le'coe Willingham continue to add key minutes on the court for the Phoenix Mercury and the Seattle Storm.

Over the past week, Phoenix stumbled slightly, dropping a game at home before going 1-2 on the road. The Mercury lost to Seattle 83-77 at home, 102-91 at San Antonio and 90-73 at Minnesota. Its lone win came at New York in the midst of the road span as it defeated the Liberty 91-84.

Bonner tallied 31 points and 29 rebounds over the four-game span, bringing her season average to 9.5 ppg and 6.1 rpg.

Seattle went 3-1 over its four-game span, capturing wins over Phoenix, Tulsa (89-72) and San Antonio (78-64). The Storm's one loss came at Minnesota, 92-67.

Willingham contributed 35 points and 20 rebounds over the four games. She now has 7.1 ppg and 4.9 rpg on the season.

Seattle returns to the court against the Connecticut Sun on Friday at 9 p.m. CT before a two-game road trip the following week.

Phoenix begins a four-game home stand on Sunday, as it takes on Connecticut. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. CT.
