GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A Maryland man coming to Alabama to work as a storm debris cleanup worker is now in jail charged with rape.

36-year-old David Walter Clatterbuck faces numerous charges including rape, sodomy, and possession of obscene materials.

Investigators said the victim was a juvenile he picked up on his way to Alabama.

Guntersville Police said the attack happened last week at the Lake View Inn while Clatterbuck's girlfriend and 15-year-old son were out shopping.

The girl told Clatterbuck's girlfriend when she returned to the hotel.

"The mother flew off the handle inside and started a physical altercation with Mr. Clatterbuck. When that happened, the 15-year-old boy called police," said Inv. Doug Ware, Guntersville Police Department.

Clatterbuck is being held on a $1 million dollar bond.
