The crash happened on Highway 431 in Guntersville. Authorities said the log truck was making a turn when the logs swung into traffic and into the ambulance.
The log went into the cab of the vehicle and into the passenger seat. Fortunately, the passenger was in the back with the patient.
The driver was injured, but it didn't stop him from checking on the patient.
"Some witnesses on the scene told us literally within seconds the driver had freed himself from the cab of the truck and was in the back to assist and take care of the patient," said James Wessel with Samaritan EMS.
Wessel said the ambulance was on a non-emergency call at the time of the wreck.
All three people in the ambulance were taken to the hospital where they were treated and released.
