Vehicle caught fire on I-65

Around 10 p.m. Saturday, the driver of a Trailblazer SUV from California was coming from Nashville when it caught fire at mile marker 293 near Hanceville.

A viewer sent in pictures from the scene.

A fireman from Montgomery, also coming from Nashville, stopped to help. He was able to rescue a guitar and other personal items, and is seen at a back door in one of the pictures.

The driver is not sure of the cause of the fire but it began in the front and he said it could have been a possible brake problem.

As the SUV burned, some fireworks stored inside exploded several times, one flying through the air hitting a passing vehicle.

After fire trucks arrived at least one more firework exploded before the flames were diminished.
