Huntsville, AL – The Milwaukee Brewers have made a pair of roster moves that will impact their Double-A affiliate Huntsville Stars prior to the start of the six-game series against Mississippi. Infielder Angel Gonzalez has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville. Additionally, infielder Zelous Wheeler was transferred to Huntsville from Nashville.
In 44 games with the Stars, Gonzalez was batting .306 (45-147) with 12 doubles, 3 home runs, and 17 RBI. He has walked 31 times and struck out 30. Gonzalez spent 25 games at shortstop, 16 at third base and two at first base, committing 14 errors.
Wheeler started the season with the Sounds, but was placed on the disabled list after only two games. He joined the Stars on May 30, before being promoted back to Nashville on June 4. In 17 games with the Sounds, Wheeler was batting .275 (14-51) with five extra-base hits and six RBI.
With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 24 with six disabled.
