STARS CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL JOKE DAY WITH COMEDY CONTEST

HUNTSVILLE, AL – What has 18 legs and catches flies? A baseball team!

The Huntsville Stars are looking for a few good comedians (or at least ones without corny one-liners) to perform at Joe Davis Stadium in a "Joke Off" on Friday, July 1 in honor of International Joke Day. Contestants will perform in between innings during the Stars game against the Mississippi Braves. Each act will be limited to a family-friendly, minute and a half performance.

Comedians will be judged based on the audience's reaction and by the number of votes each performer receives. Fans will be given a "Laugh-o-Meter" voter card at the gates. They will get to cast one vote for their favorite funny guy or gal.

The winning comedian will receive a spot in 97.7 The Zone's Stand Up Contest and a great prize package! For more information or to sign up, contact Eric Young at (256) 882-2562 or email eric@huntsvillestars.com. Don't delay, space is limited!

The Stars return home on Wednesday, June 29 for a five-day, six-game series against the Mississippi Braves. The homestand features this can't-miss "Joke Off," a double-header with Thirst-Aid Thursday and an Independence Day fireworks spectacular on Sunday. For tickets and more information, call (256) 882-2562 or visit huntsvillestars.com!
