HUNTSVILE, AL (WAFF) -

Just after 11 a.m. Friday, officers were involved in a pursuit with a man wanted in three states.

Officers chased Christopher Keiss, who is wanted on drug and theft charges in Alabama, Missouri, and Florida, from Governor's Drive and Memorial Parkway to Highway 72 near Old Gurley Pike and Moore's Mill Road.

An officer parked his car in the median to put out stop sticks to end the chase, but Keiss rammed his vehicle into the patrol car. The officer was not in the vehicle at the time and was not injured.

Police then took Keiss into custody. They found two license plates in his car, and they believe it was stolen. Sgt. Mark Roberts said that this is the same man that officers chased for a short time Thursday night.

Keiss was charged with two counts of third degree theft of property, attempt to commit murder, escape first degree, and attempting to elude police officer.

"There will be no bond because he is a fugitive from justice, so he'll be waiting extradition in other states. He will go through our charges before anywhere else," said Sgt. Mark Roberts, Huntsville Police Department.
