MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Crews continue to clean up Marshall County's Buck Island which was heavily damage nearly two months ago by an EF-1 tornado.
The tornado came through ripping up and tossing trees everywhere. Commissioner James Maze estimates 33,000 of the 38,000 tons of debris in his district has come from Buck Island. He said they hope to finish up there by the first week of July.
For now, though, residents must deal with logging trucks, debris removal trucks, and construction trucks frequently driving through the area.
Commissioner Maze urges Buck Island residents to make sure all debris is placed by the roadside by the end of the month as they conclude their debris pickup.
