NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Shaun Phillips has seen a lot of change in his 10 years in the NFL. The linebacker believes that Tennessee's switch to a hybrid 3-4 defensive scheme helps the Titans keep up with the rest of the league. Phillips said Tuesday only four or five teams played a 3-4 scheme when he came into the NFL.

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - California has hired Tennessee's Cuonzo Martin as its head coach. Cal announced Martin's hiring Tuesday. He replaces Mike Montgomery, who retired last month after six seasons in Berkeley. Martin went 63-41 in three seasons at Tennessee, including a 24-13 mark and an appearance in the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament this season.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The game between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies has been postponed by inclement weather. No makeup date has yet been announced for Tuesday's matchup between NL East rivals.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky lawmakers have gone home without voting on a proposal to provide state-backed bonding to help pay for the renovation of Rupp Arena. The last-minute proposal remained in limbo on Tuesday, which was the last day of the 2014 legislative session.
