UNA has Academic All Americans

The University of North Alabama had five student-athletes selected for the 2011 Academic All-Gulf South Conference teams in their respective sports.

Senior pitcher Trey Mitchell of Florence was selected for Academic All-GSC honors in baseball with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average in Geography. It is Mitchell's second straight year to earn Academic All-GSC honors and he is a two-time All-GSC selection as well.

Junior Jake Greer of Birmingham was chosen for the Academic All-GSC Men's Golf Team with a 3.36 GPA in Health Physical Education & Recreation. It is Greer's second time to earn Academic All-GSC and he he is a two-time All-GSC honoree as well.

Junior Kathryn Young of Florence was an Academic All-GSC softball pick with a 3.97 GPA in Secondary Education. Young is a two-time Academic All-GSC selection and has also earned second-team All-GSC honors each of the last two years.

Senior Lenka Hola and junior Victoria Rees were both named to the Academic All-GSC Women's Tennis Team. Hola has a 4.00 GPA pursuing a Master's in Business Administration. Rees has a 3.77 in Psychology. It is the second Academic All-GSC selection for both, while Hola is a three-time All-GSC performer and Rees has been chosen All-GSC twice.
